Vacation in Antalya Turkey
You will find Antalya, Turkey right along the Mediterranean coast. It’s the capital of the Antalya Province and is considered a gorgeous place to take your next vacation. Whether it’s the beautiful view of the sea, the bold mountains, or serene cliffs, they all portray a masterpiece of the land. It doesn’t matter if you’re traveling to the area for business or pleasure, because there are plenty of facilities and activities for you to enjoy your stay.
Beaches:A trip to Antalya would not be complete without visiting one of the beautiful Mediterranean beaches. Just east of the breathtaking Lower Dden Waterfalls, Lara beach provides a place to relax as well as enjoy the beautiful sun and surf.
Take a walk along the red-bricked sidewalk in Kararalioglu Parks Lara Halk Plajı, with its unique red and white street lamps on one of the longest brown pebble beaches on the Mediterranean ocean. If lying out in the sun is more your style, then enjoy a chaise lounge in the Lara Strand, just east of the Club Hotel Sera.
Located west of downtown, Konyaalti beach provides additional options for beach goers. With both white rock and imported sand, the Konyaalti Plajlari stretches for miles on the western side of the Antalya bay. Walking along the Konyaalti beach provides magnificent views of both the Mediterranean ocean as well as the Toros Mountains. Consider renting a bicycle to ride along the beach, or taking a long walk between the resorts located on the beach.
The Konyaalti beach is also famous for their annual International Antalya Sand Sculpture Festival held in June. Started in 2006, the themed event now draws sculptors from around the world. In 2009, sculptures titled Emerald Phoenix, Noahs Ark, Basilisk as well as many others caught the eye and imagination of beachgoers. The festival also has a light show that accompanies the exhibits.
Feeling Pampered During Your Stay:One of the most important aspects to your vacation is the ability to stay in a nice place. The best part about Antalya is its way of making things affordable to everyone. No matter your financial situation, the accommodations can fit everyone’s budget. Plus, each place is clean, friendly, and located in between various activities and places during your stay. The easiest way to book your trip is by speaking with a live agent.
What to See:Antalya’s history includes Roman, Byzantine, Seljuk and Ottoman influences, clearly visible while walking around the street.
Off Cumhuriyet road and Varyant Street, is the old Ottomon Antalya and harbor. This beautiful area is not only interesting historically, but is also a beautiful destination for its vibrant nightlife and travel options. Restaurants, cafes and shops popular with tourists, surround the harbor. Tour boats are available for beautiful evening cruises to view the striking lighted cliffs. Half-day sightseeing tours are also available starting with the Hadrianus Gate starting from the time of the Romans ending at the Antalya Archaeological Museum, giving the traveler an opportunity to gain a perspective on the history of this beautiful city.
Finding the Right Weather:Whenever you travel to Antalya, it’s important to understand the weather patterns. On average you’ll get about 300 sunny days a year. Thanks to the Toros Mountains, the area is protected by northern winds that reduce all those 100 degree days.
