Come To Budapest For Your Holidays And See Real Christmas Magic

Budapest for Christmas is a very fun and unique trip. My family is going to do it for the third time and it is always astounding. The Christmas Market in Budapest is not only a tradition, but an event of high standard, which is extremely popular to both Hungarians and foreign visitors alike.

If you’re looking for a place that exudes Christmas spirit you should take in Budapest’s official Christmas Market that is held every year; no matter where you’re from you’ll be amazed at the level of Christmas spirit all around you. The main tourist event in Budapest is the Market and is a popular event for Hungarians and foreign travelers to travel to and often most visit specifically in order to visit the Christmas Market. The Christmas Market is one of the largest events in Budapest and has become internationally well-known and respected due to the ever changing high quality programs that it boasts. The location in which the Christmas Market is held in is the very aesthetic square known as Vorosmarty square and is located in the center of Budapest.

Traditional Hungarian craftsmen show their talents and sell their hand made products. Only the top Hungarian craftspeople are invited to Budapest’s Christmas Market, so the intricate porcelain, cut glass and leather goods, for instance, are of the highest quality. All products are hand-made and the Hungarian Society of Folk Arts stands by their quality.

The market also has a relationship between food and the Hungarian culture. While you’re wondering around the market make sure you try the traditional Hungarian foods and cakes that are all around you such as: grilled sausages and meats, strudels, Christmas cookies, kurtos kalacs (which are cylinder-shaped pastries that are hollow, covered with different coatings and simply delicious). If you’re starting to feel a little worn out you can unwind a bit with a great cup of coffee and some amazing Hungarian cake from the Gerbeaud Cafe.

As part of this year’s series of Christmas programs in Budapest, it is also planned to host the real Santa Claus from Finland, and who will be met with immense interest from the children visiting the square, as he can personally listen to their wishes. An inseparable part of the Budapest Christmas’ series of programs is the Advent Calendar.

This spectacular fair is located in the heart of the city, in Vorosmarty Square and is said to be amongst the top ten Christmas Markets in Europe. Indeed, many travelers make the trip to Budapest just to visit the Market.

Just like any well run tourist city, you will not have any problems finding Budapest hostels if you search online before your vacation.

Whether you’re a tourist or a local of Budapest, the Christmas fair is an event that is adored by everyone. If you are looking for something that is very special and can’t be found anywhere else for your loved one, come visit the Budapest Christmas fair.
